ChatGPT can help you create new artwork, improve an existing design, remove or replace backgrounds, resize/recompose artwork, and identify potential printing issues. A free ChatGPT account is all you need to get started.

Here's How

1. Open ChatGPT
Go to ChatGPT and start a new conversation.

2. Tell ChatGPT what you're printing
Include the product and finished size—for example:

• 4" × 6" postcard

• 8.5" × 11" flyer

• 24" × 36" poster

• 18" × 24" yard sign

• 3' × 6' banner

3. Upload what you have
Use the + button to upload your existing artwork, logo, photo, PDF, screenshot, or other files. If you're starting from scratch, that's okay too.

4. Copy and paste this prompt:

I'm preparing artwork to be printed by Able Quality Printing. My finished product is a [PRODUCT] and the finished size will be [WIDTH × HEIGHT].

Please help me create or prepare this artwork for professional printing.

If I uploaded existing artwork, first review it for potential problems including resolution, proportions, image quality, margins, bleed, safe areas, spelling, and anything else that could affect printing.

If we're creating a new design, ask me for any information you still need, including my wording, logo, photos, colors, and preferred style.

Please design with these printing guidelines in mind:

• Finished size: [WIDTH × HEIGHT]

• Artwork extending to the edge should include 0.125" bleed on every side

• Keep important text and logos at least 0.25" inside the finished edge

• Images should have adequate resolution for the final printed size

• Do not alter any uploaded company logo unless I specifically request it

• Check all spelling, phone numbers, dates, prices, websites, QR codes, and other important information with me before finalizing

When we're finished, provide the highest-quality artwork possible and tell me if there is anything Able Quality Printing may still need to adjust before printing.

5. Send Us Your Artwork

Once you're happy with the design, submit the highest-quality file ChatGPT provides along with your order. Our team will review the file before production and let you know if anything needs attention.

One Important Note

ChatGPT is a powerful design and artwork-preparation tool, but AI-generated artwork is not automatically guaranteed to be print-ready. Colors, resolution, fonts, bleeds, logos, QR codes, and other details may still require adjustment.

✅ Print-Ready Artwork Checklist for Graphic Designers

1. File Format: Use High-Resolution, Industry-Standard Formats

✔ Preferred formats: PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, or High-Resolution JPG/PNG
✔ Avoid Word, PowerPoint, or low-resolution screenshots
✔ Convert text to outlines (vectors) to prevent font issues

2. Resolution: Keep It High for Crisp Prints

✔ Minimum 300 DPI (dots per inch) for high-quality printing
✔ Web images (typically 72 DPI) will appear blurry when printed
✔ Do not enlarge low-resolution images, as it reduces quality

3. Color Mode: Use CMYK, Not RGB

✔ Convert files to CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black)
✔ RGB files (used for screens) may print with unexpected colors
✔ If unsure, request a color proof before final printing

4. Bleeds & Safe Zones: Avoid Cutting Issues

✔ Add 0.125" (1/8 inch) bleed on all sides for designs that go to the edge
✔ Keep important text/images 0.25" inside from the trim line to avoid being cut off
✔ Example: A standard 8.5" x 11" document with bleeds should be sized at 8.75" x 11.25"

5. Fonts: Convert to Outlines or Embed

✔ Convert fonts to outlines (vector format) in Illustrator or InDesign
✔ If using Photoshop, rasterize text layers
✔ If sending a PDF, embed all fonts to ensure consistency

6. Transparency & Layers: Flatten for Compatibility

✔ Flatten all layers, transparencies, and effects to avoid printing errors
✔ Ensure no hidden objects remain in your design

7. Borders & Edges: Keep Them Balanced

✔ Avoid thin borders near the edge, as they may appear uneven when trimmed
✔ Use at least 0.25" margins inside the trim line

8. Proofing & Final Checks

✔ Zoom in and check for blurry elements before sending
✔ Spell-check all text; we print exactly what is provided
✔ Send the final print-ready file, not an editable working file
